Children's Library was founded in 1951 in Druskininkai. The establishment of Druskininkai, public library and the reorganization of libraries in 1995 established a public library children's literature section. In 2008 Children's Literature awarded writer Astrid Lindgren's name.

In 2010 section we have 38,847 copies. books and other documents. This is fiction, professional, educational, informational literature. 7 titles subscribed to magazines.

In 2009 Section 1359 gave readers visited 13,698 visitors. Head of the services used by children, students, teachers and parents.

We cooperate with the ,,Renaissance'' Avg. school, kindergarten "Zibute, social service center for child and adolescent day care center.

A. Lindgren children's literature section organized events - literary and thematic afternoon, book discussions, presentations of new books, quizzes, book festivals, children's prints and drawings and crafts exhibitions. Traditional department events - Book of the Year election, the International Children's Book Day, National Library Week, Children's summer employment program for the promotion of reading and events of the Nordic Library Week, A. Lindgren birthday celebration.
